A couple of years ago, when Voices of India was just a dream waiting to become true, Wildscreen Film Festival (the largest and only event of its kind that celebrates the wonderful world of Wildlife documentaries and the people behind it) was happening in Bristol, so we joined and enjoyed it all. At the Panda Awards event we met an array of amazing people so passionate in their trade; even Sir David Attenborough took one of the Voices of India postcards we were giving away, and put it in his top pocket! Sir David never got back to us but Andy Netley did and after few months, he became part of the Wildscreen Committee and wished to propose the idea that the industry is constantly updating equipment but it gets all kept in store rooms and gets outdated, only to go to gather cob webs. As much as these nature folks loved Spiders they agreed that something needs to be done.

Well we just found out that Voices of India became that something and Wildscreen have decided they wanted to support our cause and in doing so would encourage production companies to donate outdated equipment that they don't use. This equipment will be used to set up training centres throughout India whereby Voices of India can train volunteers to carry out our filmmaking workshops and empower even more children, while creating some powerful wildlife and nature documentaries for the next Wildscreen!
With film equipment being the highest cost to our project and the one thing that was really holding us back, it looks like its going to be an amazing year for Voices of India and the children of India. We can't be more grateful.
